Opera Production and Internship

Description of the module
An intensive course, duration 8 weeks, simulates the opera production process in the theatre starting from the audition for the opera roles and ending with the opera production on stage. Module includes mastering of singing and artistic skills, preparation of opera role, creativity and search for individual interpretation concepts. The course consists of individual work with the vocal teachers and pianist, piano coach, acting and stage movement lessons, rehearsals with the director and conductor.
The chosen opera in 2018 is G. Verdi’s Falstaff.
The final opera project will be performed at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic with Academy’s student symphony orchestra.
The course is intended for mezzo-sopranos, basses and baritones.
In addition to the opera production course, internship at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre – LNOBT, repertoire at www.opera.lt.
Duration of internship one month before or after an internship at the Opera studio at LMTA. All productions (revivals) available except opera premiers and co-productions.
The internship includes participation (small roles and/or choir) in the productions and rehearsals at the theatre.
LNOBT approves applications for internship.

Please include a link to a video as well as a c.v. and motivation letter with your application form.
The video (audio-visual recording) must contain at least 2 arias / scenes (preferably Verdi's) performed live in Italian without any audio / video post-production.
Selection of participants will take place during October 2017 (upon receipt of application documents)
